Stephen Lee Erwin 1970 - 2012

Stephen Lee Erwin, 42, of Huntington, WV, formerly of Greenup County, KY passed away Friday, June 22, 2012 in Huntington, WV. 

Mr. Erwin was born April 25, 1970 in Huntington, a son of the late Sebert L. “Butch” and Judith E. Bailey Erwin.

Mr. Erwin was the owner of S & S Cycles and Speedshop, and also the owner of All American Industrial Supply, both are located in Barboursville, WV.  He was a member of Highlawn Full Gospel Assembly in Huntington, and a 1989 graduate of Greenup County High School.

He is survived by his wife, Valeree A. Stickler Erwin; two sons, Stephen Todd (Jessica) Erwin, and Seth Luke Erwin, all of Huntington;  a special granddaughter, Ann Elaine Erwin; a brother, Sebert “Butch” (Denise) Erwin, Jr. of Winter Haven, FL; two nieces, Brianna and Hannah Erwin; and a host of extended family and friends.

The funeral will be at 1 PM, Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at Highlawn Full Gospel Assembly in Huntington, with Pastor Donnie McCloud officiating.  Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Huntington. 

The visitation hours will be from 6 to 9 PM, Monday, June 25, 2012 at Highlawn Full Gospel Assembly. Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY is in charge of arrangements.  Condolences may be sent to the family at BaileyFamilyFuneralHome.com.

Deepest regards go out to the Erwin family for their loss. Me and my family are so extremely so. Stevie was a very good person, growing up in the church with him and val Todd and Luke was memories I will carry with me forever... Stevie u will be missed. RIP my friend

Our thoughts and prayers are with your family following the loss of such a wonderful man. Our family will always treasure the experiences we shared up on the hill at HHS. (I don't miss making all those sandwiches.) Steve was a special person and he has a special place in my family's memories. He was Mickey's buddy and one of the people that meant so much to him during the time that he played football at HHS. I pray that God will heal your hearts and give you comfort until your together again. Please know that we are here for you should you need anything.

Val, Todd, Luke, Butchie and the other family members,
I am continually lifting up prayers for all of you as you walk through this Valley of the Shadow of death. Steve will be missed greatly. We don't understand WHY the Lord chose to call him to Heaven so soon. That will be revealed to us when we join him there. We have the guarantee of a mansion in Glory by the grace of Jesus. Steve has seen the glorious face of the Savior and is rejoicing with Judy, Butch and Mammaw Bailey.

Val, I will never forget the beautiful smile and his funny wit he shared with me every time I saw you guys. I feel very honored to have been friends with your family over many years. We at Huntington Hose will always have a special place in our hearts for Steve. It doesn't seem fair that he could be taken from us so suddenly. I coached with Steve at WVU Tech just a few years ago. Was a great guy who always made you smile or had something to say to make you laugh. Prayers go out to you and your family. Steve will definately be missed.

So sorry for your loss. I used to work with your dad, (Dewey) and have met Lola on several occasions. Kelly Harper Ferguson let us know of this tragedy. Words cannot express how I feel--and there are never the "right" words for this type of happening. Just know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
