Betty Jo Blankenship

Betty Jo Blankenship, 89, of Whites Creek, Catlettsburg, KY, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2019 at Trinity Station Retirement Community in Flatwoods, KY. Mrs. Blankenship was born September 25, 1929, in Ashland, KY, to the late Harold T. and Brizia Frazier Barney. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Blankenship was preceded in death by her loving husband, Francis R. Blankenship; a brother, Harold M. Barney; and a special friend, Allen Collier. Mrs. Blankenship was a 1947 graduate of Ashland High School and a Business Manager for the Ashland Community and Technical College where she retired in 1989, after 42 years of service. Mrs. Blankenship is survived by one brother, Gerald (Helen) Barney and two sisters, Clara Shepherd and Mary Fay (Paul) Newsome all of Ashland, KY. A funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. on Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY. Burial will follow at Ashland Cemetery in Ashland, KY. Visitation will be from 11 A.M. until time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
