Betty M. Hamilton Callihan, 88, of Flatwoods, KY, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2020, at Oakmont Manor in Flatwoods, KY. Ms. Callihan was born September 6, 1932, in Greenup, KY, to the late James and Martha Adkins Hamilton. In addition to her parents, Ms. Callihan was preceded in death by her loving husband, Tandy E. Callihan; a son, James “Buddy” Callihan; a granddaughter, Dr. Erin Brooke Freeman Dinsmore; a brother Ed Hamilton; and a sister, Charlene Cremeans. Betty was a homemaker and a wonderful mother. She was a member of Kenwood Baptist Church in Russell, KY. Ms. Callihan is survived by a son, Dennis and Susy Bailey Callihan in Wurtland, KY; a daughter, Joyce Ann (Louie) Poduavac of Wurtland, KY; a grandson whom she raised, Mike (Tammy) Caudill of Flatwoods, KY; a great-granddaughter that she loved dearly, Emme Caudill; her precious dog, Buster; and a host of extended family and friends. A funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. on Wednesday, October 28, 2020, at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY, with Pastor Ken Gowin and Roger McCaleb officiating. Burial will follow at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Russell, KY.
