Carl Dillow, 89, of Ironton, OH, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY, surrounded by his loved ones. Carl was born on August 1, 1933, in Wurtland, KY, to the late Delbert Martin and Kathern Adkins Dillow. In addition to his parents, Mr. Dillow was preceded in death by a son, Jesse Dillow; a granddaughter, Carly; five brothers; and two sisters. Mr. Dillow was a retired truck driver for Payne Trucking and a United States Korean War Veteran. He enjoyed dirt track racing, fishing, going to gospel singing events, and playing his harmonica. He was saved at the age of thirty-five and never passed up an opportunity to share his testimony. He loved his dogs: Baby, Digger, and Curly; and his cats: Brown Face, Boy-Boy, and Black Girl. Carl is survived by his two sons, Carl (Janie) Dillow II of Ironton, OH and Tony (Joy) Dillow of Louisa, KY; three daughters: Rhonda Armstrong of Ashland, KY, Rebecca Dillow of Johnson City, TN, and Lori Dillow of Flatwoods, KY; an adopted daughter, Trish Jackson of Ashland, KY; daughter-in-law, Denise Dillow of Ashland, KY; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; three brothers, Ken Dillow of Flatwoods, KY, Joe Dillow of Ashland, KY, David Dillow of Garrison, KY; five sisters, Phyllis Salyers of South Point, OH, Garnet (David) Bussell of Greenup, KY, Mollie Grubbs of Greenup, KY, Sally Davis of Wurtland, KY; and Sylvia (Tom) McErlane of Port Charlotte, FL; and a host of extended family and friends. A funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, February 24, 2023, at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY, with Carl Dillow II and Tony Dillow officiating. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veteran’s Cemetery Northeast in Greenup, KY. Visitation will be from 10 A.M. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.   Condolences can be expressed at www.baileyfamilyfuneralhome.com.
