Clyde Sidney Deere

1930 — January 1, 2015

Clyde Sidney Deere, 85, of Flatwoods, KY left this world, Wednesday, July 1, 2015, to join his wife, Betty Louis Deere, who passed away July 13, 2013.  He passed at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY. Mr. Deere was a retired steel worker for Armco, where he worked for forty five years, and was also an US Army Veteran.  Mr. Deere loved music and was an avid country music lover and musician.  He enjoyed playing the steel guitar and the bass guitar. He was a member of the American Legion. Mr. Deere was born February 16, 1930 in Greenup; a son of the late Joseph and Dora Abrams Deere.  He was also preceded in death by his wife of sixty five years, Betty Deere, and a sister, Katherine Lee. He leaves behind and will be terribly missed by, one son, Dennis (Robin) Deere Sr. of Russell, KY; one daughter, Bonnie (Mike) Newman of Portsmouth, OH; Grandchildren: Elizabeth (Marybeth) Deere, Dennis (Lavanna) Deere, Jr., James (Amanda) Deere, Justin Deere, Robin (Candace) Smith, and Jamaica Smith, BJ Gilliam, Megan (Chris) Cathey; Great Grandchildren:  Grayson Thompson, Lilin Deere, Aundreana Davis, Andrew Mason, Paige Harris, Brady Harris, Christian Harris, Isabella Harris, James Wireman, Hannah Wireman, Ashley Caylor, and Damon Caylor; Sisters: Ruth Russell, Josephine Meek, and Carol York; a brother, John Deere; and numerous nieces and nephews. Last but not least, his devoted sidekick, of fourteen years, Bo dawg. The visitation will be from 6 to 9 PM, Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY.  Internment will be at 1 PM on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East in Greenup County, KY.  Military Rites will be performed at the cemetery by the Greenbo Detachment of the Marine Corps League.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Community Hospice Care Center, 2330 Pollard Road, Ashland, KY, 41101.  Condolences may be left at baileyfamilyfuneralhome.com.
