David Holbrook Duerk

David Holbrook Duerk, 87, of Ashland, KY, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025, at Kingsbrook Lifecare Center in Ashland, KY.

Mr. Duerk was born on July 15, 1938, in Flatwoods, KY, to the late Otto F. and Nelly Mae Holbrook Duerk.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy Lee Duerk, and his three brothers: Melvin E., William Ray, and Robert Erick Duerk.

David was a carpenter for W.B. Fosson & Sons for fifty years and a son of the American Legion. He was also a member of Bridges Christian Church in Russell, KY.

Mr. Duerk is survived by his two sons, Christopher D. (Kim) Duerk of Rockport, IN, and Erick Lee (Tonia) Duerk of Mt. Washington, KY; four grandchildren, Natalie Duerk, Katherine Duerk, both of Rockport, IN, and Kody Duerk and Bryce (Haylee) Duerk, both of Mt. Washington, KY; and a host of extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY, with Rev. Jack Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Russell, KY.

Visitation will be one hour before the service on Thursday at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Kingsbrook Lifecare Center and Hospice Care Center for their exceptional kindness and support.
