Jane Kay Rhodes Gillum of Flatwoods, KY, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 7, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Jane was born on February 4, 1950, in Indiana to the late Irvin G. Rhodes and Kathryn Meek Rhodes.

In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by three brothers: her twin, James, Nathan, and Arthur; and five sisters: Lela, Alberta, Constance, Pricilla, and Aretha.

Mrs. Gillum was a dorm mother at the Kentucky School for the Deaf and worked in the food service department for King’s Daughters Medical Center. She was also an excellent homemaker who loved cooking and taking care of her family and friends, especially her grandbabies. She was very creative and enjoyed sewing and painting. She loved her church, Christian Faith Outreach in Ashland, KY, singing, playing the piano, and Sunday school teacher.

Jane is survived by her loving husband of forty-nine years, Donald “Donnie” Gillum of Flatwoods, KY; her three daughters, Larissa (James) Blair, Camilee (Jared) Tieman, and Nona Gillum all of Flatwoods, KY; special daughter, Sharon Jeanie of Wurtland, KY; five grandchildren: Kai-Kai “Papoose”, Bella “Dimples”, Zion “Cheese”, Eden “Tweety”, and Cade “Crackers”; two brothers: Calvin and Garland Rhodes; three sisters: Donna Rhodes, Aquila Rhodes, and Ruby Elan; three brothers-in-law, Ron (Diana) Gillum, Lionel (Jillanna) Gillum, and Terry (Robin) Gillum; two sisters-in-law, Billie Jo Crites, and Sharon (Gene) Jeffers; and a host of nieces and nephews, including special nieces, Lisa Baughman and Lana Harner; Lonnie Harner; Lynn Harner and extended family and friends.

The family had entrusted Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY, with the arrangements.

A funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Christian Faith Outreach (2700 Herman Avenue, Ashland, KY, 41101) with Donnie Gillum, Pastor Gene Easterling, and Terry Gillum officiating. Burial will follow at Palmer Cemetery in Russell, KY.

Visitation will be from 11 A.M. until the time of the service on Saturday at the church.
