Janice Marie Gilliam Ratliff, 79, of Greenup, KY, went home to be with the Lord who she loved above all on Sunday, January 16, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her loved ones.
Janice was born on August 12, 1942, in Shelbiana, KY to the late John Norman Gilliam Sr. and Clora Ethel Blanton Gilliam.
In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, William D. Ratliff Sr.; five brothers: Ervin Hassell Gilliam, John Norman Gilliam Jr., Carl Edward Gilliam, Paul Homer Gilliam, and Ralph Russell Gilliam; and three sisters: Phyllis Mae Gilliam Branham, Mary Louise Gilliam Donta, and Maxine Gilliam.
Janice was a florist/floral designer for Christy’s Flowers and graduated from Mullins High School in Pikeville, KY with the class of 1961. She enjoyed yard sales and setting up at the Hillbilly Flea Market. She loved her “boys” as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She attended the 21st Street Tabernacle in Ashland, KY.
Janice is survived by her five sons, William Douglas (Jenni) Ratliff Jr. of Greenup, KY, Shane Norman (Renee) Ratliff Flatwoods, KY; Chad Edward (Kristen) Ratliff of Pedro, OH, Matthew Wayne (Jody) Ratliff of Flatwoods, KY, and Kenneth Dwayne (Jennifer) Ratliff of Chillicothe, OH; twelve grandchildren: Elizabeth (Zac) Chapman, Jacob Ratliff, Bradley Ratliff, Matthew Tristan (Faith) Ratliff, Dylan (Sativa) Ratliff, Mason Ratliff, Colton Ratliff, Maddison Arthur, Alyson Arthur, Gracie Arthur, Christian Passerini, and Rylie Passerini; two great-grandchildren: Paisley Ratliff and Oliver Ratliff; a brother, Kermit Robert (Mildred) Gilliam of Ashland, KY; and a host of extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. on Friday, January 21, 2022, at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY with Pastor Rick Porter officiating. Burial will follow at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Russell, KY.

Visitation will be 11 A.M. – 1 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home.
