Jo Ann Oney

Jo Ann Oney, 78, of Ashland, KY passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021 at UK Hospice Care Center in Lexington, KY. Jo Ann was born October 25, 1942 in Ashland, KY to the late Gaylord and Sarah Josephine Bocook Cordle.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Deran Oney, a son, James Kevin Oney, and a grandson, Brandon Todd Virgin. Mrs. Oney was a homemaker and of the Christian faith. Left to mourn her passing are her daughter, Brenda Oney of Lexington, KY; a son, Mark Allen (Tara) Oney of Ashland, KY; two brothers: Gaylord (Carol) Cordle and Roger Cordle; a sister, Rosemary Hall of Ashland, KY; four grandchildren: Brianna (Shandon) Layne, Courtney (Kyle) Gibson, James Christopher Oney, and Ashley Oney; 11 great grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends. The funeral will be at 1 PM on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY with Rev. Lloyd L. Bailey officiating.  The burial will follow at McKnight Cemetery in Ashland, KY. The visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from 6-9 PM and from 11 AM until service time on Thursday.
