Linda Gail Scott Hixson

Linda Gail Scott Hixson, 74, of Wurtland, KY, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY, following a brief illness.

Linda was born on October 11, 1952, in Ironton, OH, to the late James Robert Scott and Ida Hall Scott.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her husband of forty-six years, Bruce Hixson, who passed away in 2017, and three brothers: David, Robert, and Mark Scott.

Linda worked in several capacities with both the Greenup County Board of Education and Russell Independent Schools, retiring in December of 2020. Linda was a member of the Hopewell Methodist Church in Argillite, KY, and was active in several programs. To know Linda was to love her, and she will be sorely missed.

Linda was a lifelong resident of Wurtland, KY. She leaves behind several cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends, including a special friend and brother-in-Christ, Tom Felty. Linda was loved deeply, and she impacted everyone she encountered.

A graveside service will be held at 1 P.M. on Friday, October 16, 2026, at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Russell, KY, with Rev. Chris Bellew and Rev. Josh Schmidt officiating.

The family has entrusted Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY, with the arrangements.
