Patricia Jo “Patty” Salyers, 57, of Ashland, Kentucky, passed away on August 9, 2025, at Community Hospice in Ashland.
Born on May 14, 1968, Patty spent her life rooted in the community where she was born and raised. She was a deputy jailer for Greenup County Detention Center and then a spunky volunteer bartender for the Greenup VFW Post 1168 and the Amvets Post 95. She brought joy and laughter to those around her with a hilarious sense of humor and a knack for turning everyday moments into cherished memories. She was affectionately known as “Piggy”.
Patty was the beloved daughter of Phyllis Jean Salyers and the late Harold Lloyd Salyers. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Lloyd Keith Salyers. Her family was the center of her world, and she found immense pride and happiness in being a mother and grandmother.
In addition to her mother, she is also survived by her daughter Caitlin (Tyler) Boggs; grandchildren: Ella Grace Newhouser, Easton Emory Wayne Boggs, Evan Harold Thomas Boggs, and Elijah David Allen Boggs; her brother, Mark (Marla) Salyers; her nieces, Maddison (Jacob) Sark and Makenna Salyers; her nephews, Shane Salyers, Mason (Madison) Salyers, and Matthew Salyers; and a circle of her daughter’s very best friends, whom she loved dearly & considered her own: Alyssa (Waylon & Walker) Bays, Evan Urbina, Lila Kouns, and Lakota Marie Logan.
Patty’s life was also enriched by the deep friendships she cultivated over the years. Tina Kouns, Missy (Larry) Hackworth, Victoria McCorcle, Erica JoAnn, Tom Goble, and Rick Gullett were among those who held a special place in her heart, as well as so many more.
She could often be found camping or boating when the weather allowed. Patty also enjoyed simple pleasures like getting her nails done with her daughter & granddaughter, penny shopping with friends, or going on road trips with friends & family - activities that became treasured rituals filled with laughter and beautiful memories. Above all else, she cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren.
Those who knew Patty will remember her quick wit and infectious laughter. Her jokes and funny memories will leave lasting impressions on everyone fortunate enough to share in them.
A funeral service will be held at 7 P.M. on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY, with Bro. Steve Fraley officiating.
Visitation will be from 5 P.M. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Special thank you to two hospice employees, one of her daughter’s best friends & her mother.
