Paul Edward Rice

Paul Edward Rice, 82, of Ashland, KY, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY. Mr. Rice was born December 5, 1936, in Ashland, KY, to the late Edgar A. and Ruth Morris Rice. In addition to his parents, Mr. Rice was preceded in death by one daughter, Reva Rice. Mr. Rice was a U.S. Navy Veteran, an Electrician and Carpenter for Gibbs Construction for 25years, and a retired Captain of the Ashland Fire Department. He enjoyed wood working and was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Rice is survived by his loving wife Judy Carol Rice of Ashland, KY; one son, Jeff (Melinda) Rice of Flatwoods, KY; two daughters, Tina (Tom) Swindler of FL and Paula Jones of Huntington, WV; two step-sons, Sam (Susan) Hunter and John (Kelle) Conley both of Ashland, KY; two step-daughters, Kimberly (Doug) Skaggs, of Huntington, WV and Kitty (Bill) Holt of Ashland, KY; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends. A memorial service will be held 2 P.M. on Friday, June 14, 2019, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East in Greenup, KY.
