Ronald Lee Adams, 78, of Flatwoods, KY, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 29, 2024, at Oakmont Manor in Flatwoods, KY.
Mr. Adams was born October 15, 1945, in Ashland, KY, to the late Audie and Phoebe Smith Adams.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his brother, Noah Adams, and three sisters, Janet “Jan” Short, Betty McGuire, and Jewel Vanhoose.
Ron worked in the B.O. Shops at AK Steel and was a member of the Steel Workers Union Local #1458. He was a 1964 graduate of Paul Blazer High School in Ashland, KY, and was a member of First Pentecostal Church in Flatwoods, KY, for over fifty years. During his membership, he served as a trustee, was a driver for the church van, and had been over the Boy Scouts Troop 148. Ron had been over the Men’s Ministry and the Children’s Ministry as well as volunteered to work at Vacation Bible School. He organized golfing and fishing trips, which he also enjoyed outside of church gatherings.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of fifty-five years, Bonita Ruth Clarke Adams of Flatwoods, KY; his two daughters, Mary Ruth (Chris) Dietrich of Ashland, KY, and Amy Leigh (Michael) Adams-Littell of Louisville, KY; eight grandchildren: Ashley (Adam) Hitt, Andrew (Gracie) Littell, Kaite (Lou) Cantrall, Cameron Littell, Chelsea (Ryan) Bonner, Marisa (Josh) Salisbury, Harley Paholsky, and Ruthie Dietrich; two great-grandchildren: a sister, Nagatha (Sydney) Kendrick of Russell, KY; and a host of extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at noon on Friday, August 2, 2024, at First Pentecostal Church (1110 Bellefonte Rd, Flatwoods, KY 41139) with Pastor Shane Cox, Pastor Bob Overton, and Pastor Lloyd L. Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Russell, KY.
Visitation will be from 10 A.M. to noon on Friday at the church.
The family has entrusted Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY with the arrangements.
