William Perry Short

William Perry Short, 66, of Raceland, KY, passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2019, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, KY. Mr. Short was born February 21, 1953, in Ashland, KY, William P. and Reba Darlene Rice Short of Flatwoods. Mr. Short enjoyed fishing and coaching Middle School, Travel, and Little League Softball. He loved his grandchildren. His grand-daughters were his life. Mr. Short is survived by his loving wife Zetta Arlene Castle Short of Raceland, KY; one son, William Ashley (Gretchen) Short of Raceland, KY; one daughter, Bettina Marlene (David) Grubb of Worthington, KY; four grandchildren: Breanna Grubb, Leigh Ann Grubb, Zoey Short, and Davanna Grubb; one great-granddaughter, Mia Damron, on the way. Mr. Short is also survived by three sisters, Vanessa Coleman of Ashland, KY, Martha Barker of Raceland, KY, and Kay Nolan of Ashland, KY; two sister-in-laws, Linda Wireman of Grayson, KY and Esta Ross of Rush, KY; and a host of extended family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 25, 2019, at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY, with Rev. Bobby Castle and Rev. David Daniels officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday, February 24, 2019, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
